This Privacy Policy explains how FoodNearby, operated by FBC I/S, handles information when you use the app.

2. Location Data

FoodNearby uses your location (if you allow it) to show nearby food places and improve search results. Your location is only used while you are using the app and is not stored or shared by us. The legal basis for this processing is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time through your device settings.

3. Account and Trip Plan Data

If you choose to sign in, we collect your email address and store any trip plans you save. The legal basis for this processing is the performance of a contract (providing you with the service). You can delete your account and data at any time by contacting us.

4. Search and Usage Data

We may process your search terms, selected filters, and interactions within the app to improve performance and user experience. The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in improving the app.

5. Third-Party Services and Data Processors

We use the following third-party services to operate FoodNearby:

• Google Places API (Google LLC) — to provide location and restaurant data
• OpenAI (OpenAI, LLC) — to generate recommendations and trip plans
• Supabase (Supabase Inc.) — to store account data and saved trip plans

These services act as data processors on our behalf and process data according to their own privacy policies and data processing agreements.

6. Data Storage and Security

Your account data and saved trip plans are stored securely using Supabase, with servers located in the EU. We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties beyond the services described in section 5. We will only disclose your data if required by law.

8. Your Rights (GDPR)

As an EU resident, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Right to access — you can request a copy of your data
• Right to rectification — you can request correction of inaccurate data
• Right to erasure — you can request deletion of your data
• Right to restriction — you can request that we limit processing
• Right to data portability — you can request your data in a portable format
• Right to object — you can object to processing based on legitimate interests
• Right to withdraw consent — you can withdraw consent at any time

9. Data Retention

We retain your account data and saved trip plans for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion of your account, we will delete your data within 30 days.

10. Children's Privacy

FoodNearby is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

11. Your Choices

You can control location permissions at any time through your device settings. If you have signed in, you can request deletion of your account and data by contacting us.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
